      Kura Toa Warrior School was founded by Tim Tipene in 1994.

      A survivor of a violent and abusive childhood, Tim broke the cycle through a combination of Martial Arts training, Psychotherapy and Personal Development. Tim was adopted into the Waitai-Tipene whanau as a toddler. He was raised in two cultures, NZ Maori and NZ European. Tim consolidated his learning and experience to create, Kura Toa Warrior School, and a holistic form of therapeutic personal development and self mastery called, Toatoi.

      Master Tim is assisted by Taiyang Tipene, Black Belt 3rd Dan, and Tahlia Tipene, Black Belt 2nd Dan. High achievers, Taiyang and Tahlia have been studying Warrior Kids since the age of 4 and both train in the Toatoi teen class.

    • Classes are specialised.

      To ensure quality the number of students

      are limited to just 6, so booking a space is essential.

Tim has spoken in schools through Duffy Books in Homes, Storylines, the NZ Book Council and Getting Kids into Books. Tim has been a speaker at the Auckland Writers Festival and was a part of the Sir Peter Blake Dream Team of Leaders.
